DACUM: Developing a Curriculum

Gregg Neelin, Selkirk College

DACUM (Develop A CurriulUM) provides a participatory framework for analyzing and developing a  profile that details the knowledge and skills required to perform key job tasks. DACUM can be used to:

  • Develop educational curriculum and training programs;
  • Develop job descriptions and performance evaluation tools;
  • Determine training gaps, assess knowledge and skills pre- and post-training;
  • Evaluate existing training programs as to content relevance;
  • Among other uses.

In this short applied, interactive skillshop we developed a DACUM ‘sketch’ for CE Programmers.
