Selkirk College

Serving the West Kootenay region, Selkirk College covers a region of 45,000 square kilometers and provides distance learning opportunities for students around the world.  With over 70 certificate and diploma programs, it boasts over 36,000 graduates since opening in 1966.  It was the first college in B.C. to be awarded a Leading Edge Endowment Fund Regional Innovation Chair for its contributions, through leadership and research, to regional economic development. Selkirk College is actively involved in applied research activities, primarily through the Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute, Regional Innovation Chair and the Selkirk College Geospatial Research Centre.
