2.6A How colleges can grow together with the existing robust women entrepreneurship network in BC

Join WeBC, a non-profit supporting women business owners to start and growth businesses in BC, in a workshop to learn about the landscape serving women entrepreneurship in our province. In this workshop you will learn: 

  1. Who is in the BC and Canadian ecosystem supporting women entrepreneurs.
  2. Why gendered lens support in business is still needed.
  3. What they have learned in 29 years of serving women entrepreneurs.
  4. How to work with network partners like them who work daily in this ecosystem. 

Workshop outcomes 

  1. Understanding the larger BC and Canadian landscape supporting women entrepreneurship. 
  2. Reasons to leverage existing expertise, experience and content.
  3. Programs that have been successful in getting more women to start and grow businesses. 

Paris Gaudet

Board Chair of WeBC and Alumni Relations Liaison at North Island College. Paris has over 15 years’ experience in non-profit leadership, economic development and entrepreneurial program development in the tech sector. She holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Royal Roads University (with a focus in DEI). 

Shauna Harper

As the CEO of WeBC, Shauna is a nationally-recognized advocate for women entrepreneurs, gender equity, impact-driven leader, and connector in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. She was on the BC Premier’s Women’s Economic Council as an advisor from 2014-2017, and an advisor on the Government of Canada’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy in 2019.

Neta Raz

Neta Raz is the Project Manager of one of BC’s largest federally funded projects supporting women entrepreneurs in the growth phase of their businesses. Her post secondary education experience comes from managing the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurship Experiential and Work-Integrated Learning Programs.
